Upon your start date, you have the immediate benefit time for the death of an immediate family member or friend.
In the event of a family member's death TMSA shall provide paid Bereavement leave under the following scenarios:
Immediate Family-- 3 days paid leave
TMSA defines immediate family as the Employee's
- Spouse
- Child
- Parent including Step-parents
- Sibling(s) --brother/sister --includes "half" status
- Grandparent(s)--includes "great" status
- Grandchildren--includes "great" status
- Spouse's parents & grandparents
Other Family or friend-- 1 day of paid leave TMSA defines other family as:
- Sister-in-law
- Brother-in-law
- Daughter-in-law
- Son-in-law
- Aunts / Uncles
- Nieces / Nephews
- Cousins
- Friend
Should employees need to take time off for uncovered family members or additional time for covered family members, they can use other types of provided leave such as vacation, personal days, and /or personal leaves of absences. For more information, contact your Manager or Human Resources.
